An apparent explosion at a flour mill near downtown Columbus resulted
in the death of one person, and injured several others.
The incident happened at a ConAgra flour milling building near Interstate
270.
Three people were taken to The Ohio State University Medical Center.
One of the victims, died the next day.
Two victims remain in critical condition. Another victim and a firefighter
were treated and released. Two other victims were taken to Mount
Carmel East. Some of the victims suffered second- and third degree
burns.
A ConAgra representative said 10 people were working at the time
of the explosion.
"Employee and workplace safety is our top priority," ConAgra
spokesman Bob McKeon said. "We are very concerned about any
indident like this. The incident will be fully investigated by the
company and the fire department, and we will assist fully with the
investigation."
