Charlotte, N.C. -- A three-alarm fire at a manufacturing plant
in Charlotte, NC kept firefighters busy for hours early Wednesday
morning.
The fire started shortly after midnight
at the Genpak plant located at 1001 Westinghouse Boulevard in southwest
Charlotte.
Firefighters
needed about and hour and a half to control the flames, but stayed
at the plant longer to watch for hot spots.
Investigators say a styro-foam product
caught fire and is similar to an accident at the same plant in December
of last year. Plant officials say product damage could be more than
a million dollars
Investigators issued a citation to
Genpak, and will meet with company officials next week to make sure
that similar situation does not happen again
No injuries were reported.
